A game created for the Criança Esperança (Hope for Children) 2014 philanthropic campaign. Consisting of a virtual stickers album which allows the player to collect up to 300 celebrities selfies from Rede Globo’s staff (kind of Brazilian’s Hollywood). Each sticker pictures a celebrity supporting one of the children’s rights.
The player can trade virtual stickers with friends via the Facebook integration or win new stickers by playing a game of word discovery with other players.
Álbum da Esperança aimed to engage a massive amount of people in the campaign. To achieve this goal, we received the support of many national celebrities and combined promotion via social networks, multiplayer viralization and presence in open broadcast TV.
To keep the game up and running for such a huge campaign we designed the game backend (serverside) to support hundreds of thousand of simultaneous connections, applying comprehensive cloud technology. Additionally, more than 50k players sent their own selfie pictures through the game app, spontainously supporting children’s rights.
In despite of being a mobile game, the project integrated closely with the TV channel we promotional codes were announced to collect exclusive virtual stickers.
